Bubble and Pebble
This is an early learners interactive game that can be played online, or can be downloaded through the Apple store or Google play store. An interesting interface that is not intimidating to a young user; in fact it is quite inviting because of its simplicity. This interactive game has garnered high recognition from many established institutions. The good thing as well.......its free.
Whether it is played on a computer or downloaded onto a tablet device, the interface itself is quite easy to navigate for any user. The games include a mixture of teaching strategies that make use of colours, numbers, pictures, etc. There is also a child's voice to help reassure the user that the actions taken are received as well give direction. I did a test on my sister-in-laws 3 year old child and it was interesting to see how fascinated she was with the application. She continued to play with thee application for about 30 minutes; which we were pleasantly surprised.
The games are simple, well thought out, and not meant to overcomplicate the purpose of the application. Essentially this app would be beneficial to a user between 4-5 years of age, and also depending on how well developed the user's English skills are. This is the kind of program that would be welcomed by any parent who would like to introduce their child to learn the early stages of the English language. In addition, this could be used in certain classroom environments where English training is not easily accessible.
The people behind the app are experienced EFL practitioners, but also received help from children in their class. So the research and development was accomplished by six year olds. So its obvious that other children will enjoy the experience.
