It is free to use this website but if the teacher wants to create his own game, follow-up his students progress on these games or give feedback to a student as well as have the student comment on these feedback, he needs to become a member but this is also free. The teacher can create games which teaches his student to read or write. These games can also be created according to which level his students are in their knowledge of English. The good thing about this website is students, parents and teachers can read what is being trained as well as the age or class it is meant for.
There are different levels to each game which the student can replay or move on to the next level. Each level may or may not have pictures to each question. Each question have two or three alternatives for the student to choose from. If the student gets the answer right, there is a tick and if he gets it wrong, there is a cross.

My students and I have used this site a lot. They have practiced time in Matematics, the body parts in Biology or colors in English. I have given my students homework from this site and parents think it is an interesting site. If you have not tried it, I would encourage you to go and take a look.
Below are pictures of what it looks when you go to the website.

ReplyDeleteHi Arianne!
ReplyDeleteJust as you I use Elevspel a lot in my classroom. I teach refugees between age 13 and 16 in all the school subjects but with focus on Swedish. Elevspel is a very helpful tool in my classroom since the children`s school background can vary from "no school to 8 years of school". I really appreciate that the children can work with the same program but on different levels. Even the weakest pupils have a sense of progress as they get feedback within the levels. They are all involved and have no time to compare themselves to others.
It was a very good idea to give them Elevspel as homework, I will try that.
The only critic I have to the program is that some excercises could have a few more levels. Have you used Helpfulgames as well?
